West Coast Upscale Barbershop Expanding into Nashville

Seattle-based Rudy’s Barbershop is a high-end chain with locations in the trendiest neighborhoods in four of the country’s trendiest cities. Nashville is about to become the company’s fifth city, with two Rudy’s locations on their way to Music City. The retailer, which focuses on artistic areas, will be building out its first Nashville location at 1200 Villa Place in Edgehill Village, starting in a few weeks, and it hopes to have it open by early winter. It will be open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., seven days a week, Lynch said.

Soler Sisters of Old Glory Get Food & Wine Nod for Best New Mixologists 2016

Food & Wine Magazine has singled out Alexis & Britt Soler of Old Glory as the Best New Mixologists in 2016. “In a vast 1920s boiler room complete with exposed brick and a towering smokestack, Old Glory offers an inventive drinks menu created by sisters Alexis and Britt Soler,” the magazine says. “Unconventional cocktails like Pony Show (tequila, gin, honeydew, green pepper and mint) and Horse, Of Course (Fernet-Branca, Campari, ginger and lime) are a nod to Alexis’ infatuation with horses.”

Andy Hayes is in as Executive Chef at Upcoming Barcelona Wine Bar

A familiar face will be at the helm when Spanish tapas spot Barcelona Wine Bar opens in Edgehill Village, as Andy Hayes has been named as the executive chef for the forthcoming restaurant and bar. Hayes, a seasoned chef who most recently worked as executive chef at Italian eatery Moto and as the opening chef de cuisine at Germantown’s 5th & Taylor, joined the Barcelona team earlier this year.

Warby Parker brings store to Nashville

E-commerce eyeglasses retailer Warby Parker is betting big on brick-and-mortar.

The New York City-based company — which disrupted the eyewear industry by offering consumers a cheaper alternative with its $95 prescription glasses — will open a store in Nashville on Saturday at 1207 Villa Place in Edgehill Village, Warby Parker’s 19th brick-and-mortar.
